US cops facing scrutiny for social media behaviour

Officers put on administrative leave pending an investigation for posts deemed racist or advocating violence.

More than 70 police officers have been taken off the streets in the US city of Philadelphia for violent or racist social media posts.

The Plain View Project reviewed the posts made by a sample of police officers in eight cities.

Similar behaviour was found in every city sampled, raising concerns about the culture surrounding the police.
