Cyprus drilling dispute calls for sanctions against Turkey
Turkey dispatched a drilling ship on Thursday to explore oil and gas off Cyprus coast, in what Nicosia says is its exclusive economic zone.
Greece and Cyprus have urged the European Union to issue sanctions against Turkey after it deployed a second drilling ship off the northeast coast of Cyprus.
The vessel is looking for oil and gas in what Cyprus says is its territory.
But Ankara says the area falls under the jurisdiction of Turkish Cypriots.
