Ugandan opposition MP Bobi Wine held in custody

Wine faces charges of incitement for leading protests last year against a social media tax.

Opposition MP and singer Bobi Wine has been in custody since Monday following charges for leading an anti-government protest over a social media tax in the capital Kampala in July 2018.

His lawyers say the charges have been fabricated to stop him criticising the country’s leadership.
