Alabama’s new anti-abortion law sets stage for court battle

Under Alabama’s new law, even women who get pregnant through rape or incest would not be able to terminate their pregnancy.

Some US states are calling for economic retaliation against Alabama after its leaders approved the country’s most restrictive abortion law earlier this week.

The hashtag #BoycottAlabama is gaining momentum online but supporters of the near-total ban on abortions insist it is the right thing to do.

However, the Supreme Court could end up making the final decision.
