Moderate Catalan separatist parties boost their standing in Spain’s national parliament in Sunday’s general elections.
The future of Spain’s semi-autonomous Catalan region was one of the big issues of the election.
But pro-separatist parties gained just 40 percent of the votes there, showing deep divisions over independence remain.
