
Algeria transition: Constitutional council head Belaiz resigns
It is the country’s highest judicial body, which oversees presidential and parliamentary elections.
The chairman of Algeria‘s constitutional council, Tayib Belaiz, has quit his post.
Anti-government protesters had been calling for his resignation, saying he was a part of the ruling elite that should be completely replaced.
