Camps open in Colombia for Venezuelans fleeing crisis

The UN describes Venezuela’s refugee exodus as the worst crisis in Latin America. Al Jazeera met some who have fled.

The political and economic turmoil in Venezuela has created what the UN is calling Latin America’s worst ever refugee crisis.

Of the three million people who have fled in recent years, one million have left for neighbouring Colombia.

That is where the UN’s refugee agency has set up its first centre to receive Venezuelans escaping the crisis.
