Zimbabwe school teachers launch nationwide strike
School teachers in Zimbabwe are demanding better working conditions and to be paid in US dollars, rather than government bonds, which constantly lose value.
Some public school teachers in Zimbabwe have gone on a nationwide strike over pay and working conditions.
Union leaders said some teachers fear intimidation from security forces and are going to work, but doing very little.
The government claimed that there is no intimidation and that teachers are being offered more pay, but teachers have said it is not enough to match the rising cost of fuel and basic goods.
