UK’s weapon sales to Saudi unlawful: Lords committee

The UK has licensed nearly $7bn of arms exports to Saudi Arabia and the coalition nations since the war started.

British arms exports to Saudi Arabia violate international humanitarian law.

That’s the conclusion of a British parliamentary committee which now wants the government to do more to end the war in Yemen.

It says the justification for supplying weapons to the Saudi-Emirati-led coalition is flawed.

For the moment, the United Kingdom is not yet ready to change policy.
