Georgian business magnate takes on ruling party

Recently established political party Lelo prepares for parliamentary elections as country is gripped by protests.

With Georgia gripped by anti-government protests and parliamentary elections scheduled for next year, a banking magnate has decided to take on the government.

Mamuka Khazaradze, who co-founded the country’s largest universal bank, recently established the political party, Lelo.

Al Jazeera’s Robin Forestier-Walker met Khazaradze in Kakheti, Georgia, to find out whether another oligarch is on the rise in Georgia’s personality-driven political arena.
