NATO chief in Ukraine says Russia must withdraw troops

Ukraine’s president plans to withdraw troops from eastern region and seeks closer ties with NATO.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is planning to pull back troops from the eastern region of Luhansk as NATO secretary-general Jens Stoltenberg visits the country.

As Stoltenberg called on Russia to reduce tensions in the area, Zelenskyy said he was making preparations to join the western security alliance.
