WHO to hold Philippines summit after polio outbreak

The Philippines has announced the return of polio type 2, an incurable disease that was previously believed eradicated there.

The World Health Organization is meeting in the Philippines after the country announced an outbreak of polio.

Environmental samples from sewage in Manila have been confirmed as containing the virus.

The discovery follows the outbreak of dengue fever and measles in the span of less than a year.
