Somalia security meeting: Delegates discuss AU troop withdrawal

Meeting to discuss security roadmap in the run-up to 2020 elections marred by two recent al-Shabab attacks.

Somalia and its international partners are meeting in the Somali capital, Mogadishu to discuss security issues in the run-up to next year’s elections.

African Union forces or AMISOM is due to withdraw from the country over the next two years.

But major security lapses and poor governance still plague Somalia even as its elections draw close.
