India hold local vote in Kashmir despite lockdown, boycott

Village council elections held in Indian-administered Kashmir, with hundreds of leaders in jail, most parties boycotting.

Indian-administered Kashmir has held its first vote since New Delhi revoked its semi-autonomous status in August.

The elections are for local councils. But, most political parties are boycotting and turnout is expected to be low.
