
China’s first e-commerce law offers consumers more protection
China’s new e-commerce laws will be effective in wiping out counterfeit goods from the online marketplace.
China has introduced a new law to regulate its vast e-commerce sector. The legislation aims to protect online consumers and intellectual property and clean up the country’s reputation as a major source of fake goods.
Companies or individuals who break the law could be fined up to $30m.
