Migrants forced to take perilous routes as Trump tightens border

Many are facing increased hurdles in their bids to reach the US as US president’s anti-migrant policies tighten.

In recent weeks, thousands of migrants from Latin America have been forced to surrender to US authorities after failing to circumvent border controls tightened by US President Donald Trump.

But some made it across by taking much more arduous routes.
