UN: Civilian deaths in Afghanistan hit record high in 2018

United Nations says the war-torn country saw 3,800 civilian lives taken last year, including 1,000 children.

Talks between the United States and the Taliban continue in Doha as civilians in Afghanistan are dying in record numbers.

A United Nations report recorded about 3,800 civilian deaths in 2018, including nearly 1,000 children.

That is the highest number of civilians killed in a single year in Afghanistan since records began.
