Desperate journeys: Arrivals in Spain tripled this year

Shelters in the south of Spain are struggling to deal with a huge influx of refugees and migrants.

As Italy hardens its immigration policy and prevents ships from landing, the number of refugees and migrants trying to reach the southern coast of Spain is increasing.

The rise has put pressure on rescue services and fueled political debate on how to handle the situation.
