Russia has plan for Syrian refugees, UN says return unsafe

Delegation headed by President Vladimir Putin’s special envoy on Syria presents a proposal for the return of refugees in Lebanon, where one million registered Syrians are currently live.

A Russian delegation has arrived in Lebanon to discuss plans to repatriate Syrian refugees.

There are almost one million registered Syrians living in Lebanon and the plans to return the refugees are supported by host nations Lebanon and Jordan.

However, the UN and some refugees say it is still unsafe to return.
