Argentines protest against decree allowing military on streets

Memories of the military dictatorship the ruled Argentina in the 1970s and 80s have brought Argentines out to protest against a decree that would allow the military to intervene in domestic problems.

In a radical reform of Argentina‘s defence strategy, President Mauricio Macri has vowed to remove a ban which prevents the military from getting involved in issues like fighting crime.

But thousands of people are demanding that troops be kept off the streets.
