Japan heatwave: Death toll climbs to 80
Officials are urging citizens to stay indoors to avoid ‘unprecedented’ record-breaking heat that has been declared a natural disaster by the country’s weather agency.
At least 80 people have been killed and thousands of others have been sent to hospital in Japan‘s record-breaking heatwave since the beginning of the month.
In many cities across the country, the temperature has hit 40 degrees Celsius.
