
Nicaragua protests: People still living in fear
Nicaraguan security forces launched what they called a ‘clean-up operation’ on Monimbo, a historical bastion of resistance since the Sandinista revolution.
Rights groups have criticised the government’s violent crackdown on anti-government protests.
Almost 300 people have died in three months of demonstrations.
Gunmen are now roaming the streets of Masaya, a city west of Managua, after suppressing protests. Many of the inhabitants are living in fear.
