Fuego volcano disaster: Search operation suspended

While grieving their losses, families are searching for their loved ones in order to put them to rest.

Guatemala’s government has again suspended the search for those missing in the wake of the Fuego volcano eruption, leaving relatives to dig through the ash and mud themselves.

At least 109 people are known to have been killed and at least 200 are still missing since Fuego erupted on June 3.

Al Jazeera’s David Mercer reports from the disaster zone.
