Gulf crisis one year: Qatar steps up self-sustainability
When blockading countries stopped exporting fresh produce, Qatar stepped and created their own – Baladna farm.
One of the major challenges of the Gulf crisis came when the four blockading countries, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt, stopped exporting fresh produce to Qatar.
That led to a push towards self-reliance on food.
Al Jazeera’s Laura Burdon-Manley went to Baladna farm in northern Qatar.
