Philippines: ISIL-linked Maute recruiting children in Marawi

The Philippine military accuses the rebel group of playing on the emotions of displaced and orphaned children traumatised by the battle for the southern city of Marawi.

An ISIL-linked group in the southern Philippines is expanding its presence, just seven months after its fighters were defeated following a siege in the southern city of Marawi.

Maute group is now recruiting children displaced and orphaned by the conflict.

Al Jazeera’s Jamela Alindogan reports now from Marawi City.
