Turkey election: Votes for pro-Kurdish HDP party could be pivotal
Though one of the main opposition parties represents the Kurdish minority, particularly in the southeast, its vote could be decisive in the election.
One of the main opposition parties vying for a share of Sunday’s votes is the pro-Kurdish People’s Democratic Party, or HDP.
Although Kurds make up only 17 percent of the electorate, HDP’s performance could have a decisive impact on the election.
Al Jazeera’s Mohamed Vall reports from one of the party’s biggest strongholds in the southeastern city of Diyarbakir.
