Colombia election: President-elect Duque vows to unite nation

Ivan Duque has pledged to unite his South American nation after a divisive campaign against leftist Gustavo Petro, but insisted he would change a landmark peace accord with FARC rebels.

Colombia‘s President-elect Ivan Duque has called for unity after winning Sunday’s runoff vote.

He wants to rewrite the peace deal with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) rebels, and revive the economy.

The 41-year old will be Colombia’s youngest ever leader when he takes office in August.
