Large fire at warehouse for ballots from disputed Iraqi election
The conflagration at the eastern Baghdad warehouse did not destroy ballot boxes and the cause remains unknown.
A large fire has broken out at a warehouse storing ballot boxes from last month’s Iraqi election. But ballot boxes apparently have not been destroyed. The cause of the blaze is not yet known, but the country is preparing for a manual recount of around 10 million votes following allegations of electoral fraud.
Al Jazeera’s Charles Stratford reports from Baghdad.
