
World Press Freedom Day: United States falls two places
Donald Trump’s constant attacks on the media are popular with his base, but even other Republicans have worried that he is undermining a free press, both at home and abroad.
According to the Global Press Index, the US has fallen two spots and is now listed as the 45th ranked country for press freedom. Much of that is down to the current occupant of the Oval Office.
Worse, critics believe it’s having a broader global impact.
