Palestinian National Council meets for first time in 22 years
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas delivered the opening session speech, which was heavy on history, light on policy.
The Palestinian National Council is holding its first official meeting in 22 years in the West Bank city of Ramallah.
The rare assembly will spend three days discussing critical issues – although several key factions have decided not to attend.
Top of the list is whether or not to suspend the Palestinians’ recognition of Israel.
