
Stolen ancient statues return to Nepal from US
Thousands heritage artefacts were stolen from Nepal, but a statue of Shiva and his wife that were taken to the US have been returned decades after their theft.
Two ancient statues that were stolen from Nepal 30 years ago have been returned to Kathmandu.
They were on display at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, until a historian sounded the alarm.
