Nicaragua launches deadly crackdown on anti-government protests
Pension cuts triggered mass demonstrations, which have led to several deaths, and now, the government is attempting to control coverage of the protests by shutting down independent media outlets.
At least five people have been killed and dozens injured during days of anti-government demonstrations in Nicaragua. Protesters are angry about social security changes, including pension cuts. The government has now ordered five independent TV stations covering the protests to stop broadcasting.
