On Sunday, hundreds of supporters of the former Catalan president marched through Germany’s capital demanding his release.
Protesters are making controversial comparisons between attempts to extradite Carles Puigdemont with what happened to his famous counterpart nearly 80 years ago.
The former Catalan president was arrested in Germany last week and faces extradition to Spain on rebellion charges.
