Yemen’s ancient city of Zabid at risk as fighting nears
Residents and international organisations fear that fighting between Saudi-led coalition and Houthi rebels could damage the UNESCO World Heritage site beyond repair.
The International Red Cross has called on all sides in the Yemen conflict not to shell one of the country’s oldest towns.
Zabid is a United Nations World Heritage site, but there are fears many of its historic buildings will be reduced to rubble.
