Sierra Leone mudslide survivors struggle to rebuild their lives

Government took possession of 52 homes donated by some construction companies to help the victims, but survivors say the government is demanding they pay for them.

Hundreds of mudslide survivors in Sierra Leone are struggling to move on, seven months after the disaster.

At least 500 people are known to have died and hundreds more remain missing.

Temporary shelters for the homeless have closed, and only a fraction of them are being cared for by relatives and neighbours.

Al Jazeera’s Ahmed Idris reports from Freetown.
