Pakistan urged to avert disastrous water crisis

Millions are already feeling the effects of water shortages because of what critics say is poor planning and uncontrolled urbanisation.

About 200 million Pakistanis face running out of water within the next 10 years.

Government leaders are being urged to build more reservoirs and dams, and improve an extensive network of irrigation canals built more than a 100 years ago.
