Israel to provide details on plan to deport African refugees

The Israeli government has until Monday to provide further details of its controversial plan to expel thousands of African refugees – mostly Eritrean and Sudanese – to a third African country.

The Israeli government has been given until Monday to provide more details of its plan to deport more than 40,000 African refugees.

The Supreme Court set the deadline after suspending the programme at a hearing earlier this month.

Migrants and asylum seekers were offered a choice: deportation or jail.
