Syrian government demands Turkish troops leave Afrin

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has vowed to expand Turkey’s Syria campaign to other Kurdish-held areas up to the Iraqi border.

The Syrian government has heavily criticised what it calls Turkey’s “occupation” of the city of Afrin and is demanding Turkish forces withdraw.

Turkey says it now plans to expand its military operation to other Kurdish-held towns in Syria.
