
Pelosi tells US Congress immigrant stories for eight hours
The top House Democrat, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, is thought to have set a new record for the longest speech ever made in the House of Representatives, after telling the stories of immigrants for eight hours.
US Senate leaders have agreed a budget deal for the next two years that could prevent another government shutdown in the next 24 hours. But it is facing strong opposition in the House of Representatives which also needs to sign off on the proposal.
The top House Democrat, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, made history when she spoke out against the deal.
