Greece’s public healthcare near crisis point over shortages

How a shortage of staff and medical equipment is crippling Greece’s public health system.

Doing with almost a quarter of what Greece used to spend on its public healthcare, doctors say hospital waiting rooms are turning into scenes of chaos because of a severe shortage of staff.

Surgical supplies are running out and some operations are being postponed, they have cautioned.
