US stocks slump continues before Christmas break

President Trump’s criticism of Federal Reserve and government shutdown sent stocks taking record losses.

Markets in the United States have closed for Christmas after a tumultuous week.

The US stocks fell sharply on Monday, sending the Dow Jones Industrial Average down more than 400 points, extending the market’s losses after its worst week in more than seven years.

President Donald Trump‘s criticism of the Federal Reserve, along with trade tensions with China, and a government shutdown sent stocks taking record losses on the Christmas Eve.
