Nicaragua pushes to silence critics amid US sanctions threat

A tense calm returns to Nicaragua, but the anger that sparked months of protests is still hanging in the air.

Attacks on government critics and the media have become commonplace in Nicaragua since peaceful protests started in April.

Amid the crisis, the threat of sanctions by the United States for alleged human rights violations looms large.
