Ukraine president vows to bring home sailors captured by Russia

Poroshenko reassures 24 captured Ukrainian servicemen’s relatives that he’s doing everything possible to get them freed.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has met the families of several sailors held by Russia.

During the meeting on Tuesday, he tried to reassure them that he was doing everything possible to get the men freed.

Last month, Russian coastguards had seized three ships of Ukraine and their crew after a confrontation in waters off Crimea – a Ukrainian region annexed by Russia in 2014.
