Basketball underfunded in the UK despite popularity

Basketball is the second-most popular sport in the United Kingdom for teenagers in disadvantaged urban areas. But it is one of the worst funded.
The national champions are from Leicester, and they want to know why there is not more help for their sport and their community.
At present, UK Sport, the government’s organisation for elite sport development, gives no money to basketball because the UK has won no Olympic medals in basketball. But that only creates a vicious cycle without the investment and development improve.
