Afghanistan’s Shia lose hope the election will bring change

Many already marginalised Shia are further disenchanted with the government after a series of ISIL attacks.

Afghanistan’s Shia minority has significant sway in politics, holding 20 percent of seats in parliament but this has not given them any confidence in Sunday’s election.

A series of ISIL attacks targeting them has left them disenchanted with the government.
