Kirchner corruption charges boost Macri’s re-election prospects

Argentinian president expected to lose support after tax increase proposal, but Cristina de Kirchner’s alleged corruption is expected to give him a boost in next year’s vote.

Argentina’s President Mauricio Macri is expected to lose more support as he presents a new budget that includes tax increases to Congress.

But corruption charges against his main rival, former President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, are improving his chances of winning next year’s presidential election.
