Uniting western Sydney’s diverse communities through football

An innovative programme called ‘Football United’ aims to help newly-arrived refugee and migrant children integrate into their local multicultural community.

Australia play Denmark in the World Cup later on Thursday.

The team, known as the “Socceroos”, need to win to stay in the tournament.

Football is not the most popular spectator sport in Australia, but it is helping migrant children integrate into society.
