Venezuelan refugees in Colombia face deportation threat

As Venezuela’s crisis deepens, more of its citizens are fleeing a country that once served as a haven for economic migrants and political refugees.

With Venezuela‘s economy on the brink of collapse, the number of Venezuelans crossing the border into Colombia is on the rise.

It is estimated that more than 500,000 made the move recently.

Al Jazeera’s Alessandro Rampietti reports from the border city of Cucuta, where many Venezuelan refugees are sleeping rough and in fear of being deported.
