Catalonia parliament: New representatives to be sworn in

A coalition of secessionist parties is expected to form a ruling majority and to try to reinstate former leader Carles Puigdemont, but judges warn that Puigdemont will be arrested if he tries to return.

Spanish MPs elected in the Catalan regional vote last month will be sworn in on Wednesday.

But parliament is expected to be emptier than usual, as many who won seats are either in jail or self-imposed exile.

They’re facing a criminal investigation following October’s outlawed secession referendum.
