Qatar and Saudi Arabia to compete at show jumping competition

At Ashghabat 2017 in Turkmenistan, riders from Qatar and Saudi Arabia will compete while their countries are locked in a bitter political dispute.

The Gulf diplomatic crisis spilled over onto sports when it led to the cancellation of this year’s Gulf Cup of Nations in football.

However, there is hope that the games in this horse-loving nation can promote cooperation and understanding.
